Why the complete system matters
The story connects media performance, seal and fit stability, and the human reality of wearing protection through a full shift.
Review filtration and breathing resistance results for the exact configuration and test conditions.
Fit depends on positioning, adjustment, movement, and the individual wearer. Follow the fitting instructions and program requirements.
Consider breathing effort, heat, moisture, and eyewear when assessing suitability for the task.
Clear vision during the workday
Discomfort or fogging can lead to adjustment. Moving a tight fitting respirator can disturb its seal. Follow the instructions for fit and use.
This is a recognizable use scenario, not a universal product outcome. Named product comparisons and public performance claims require matched testing.
These are example costs, not RZ prices or promised savings. Confirm the required approval and suitable product for your workplace before comparing costs.
Equipment and filter cost comparison
Tell us what your team spends on disposable respirators. We will automatically calculate a reusable cost example for your workforce and shift schedule.
Illustrative example only. These are not RZ prices, product life claims, or promised savings. Compare only configurations approved and suitable for the same workplace requirements.
Based on 25 employees and 20 shifts per employee each month.
Compares equipment and replacement filters only. Labor and maintenance costs are excluded from both sides.
Planning example, not a product or replacement schedule recommendation. RZ must confirm the suitable model, pricing, filter needs, and program costs before you make a purchasing decision.
Fixed example assumptions: $50 per facepiece including its first filter set; $5 per additional complete filter set; one additional set per employee per month. These assumptions are not verified RZ figures.
Disposable annual cost = employees × shifts per month × respirators per shift × unit price × 12. Reusable first year cost = initial equipment + 12 months of replacement filters. Savings = disposable cost minus reusable cost. Payback divides upfront equipment costs by monthly equipment and filter savings, assuming steady use. Labor, cleaning supplies, maintenance, and other operating or program costs are excluded from both sides; this is not a total cost of ownership calculation.
The example assumes one facepiece lasts the comparison year and the first filter set is included in its price. RZ must account for spares, replacements, additional fit testing, training, administration, shipping, disposal, and taxes in a confirmed quote. Actual savings will depend on these unmodeled costs. Excluding cleaning and maintenance costs does not remove the need to perform them. No productivity, health, injury, or waste savings are assumed.
Filter quantities are budgeting assumptions, not replacement instructions. Follow manufacturer instructions and workplace requirements. Replace filters when required, including when damaged, soiled, or breathing resistance increases. Never extend use to meet a savings target. Respirator selection, required approval, medical evaluation, fit testing, training, and maintenance remain employer responsibilities. This calculator does not establish OSHA compliance or NIOSH approval for any RZ model.
