Common questions

Common product and use questions

Use these answers as a starting point. The instructions for your exact product and your workplace requirements govern its use.

Which RZ product should I choose?

Start with the environment, task, wearer, and required approval. The Find Your RZ guide routes you to the most responsible starting point.

Does one filter work with every RZ mask?

No. Compatibility and approved use must be confirmed for the exact product and filter configuration.

Is RZ Pro 99 approved by NIOSH?

No. RZ Pro 99 is currently in pre submission testing. NIOSH approval has not been granted.

What is the difference between fit testing and a seal check?

Formal fit testing confirms that a specific tight fitting respirator model and size fits an individual. A user seal check is completed each time the respirator is put on.

When should a filter be replaced?

Replacement depends on the product, environment, loading, condition, approved instructions, and workplace program. RZ will publish model specific guidance rather than one universal interval.

Can RZ products be used for gases or vapors?

Activated carbon odor management is not certified gas or vapor protection. Confirm the hazard and approved product application before use.
