Filters and replacement

When should I replace my RZM3 filter?

Check the filter before each use. Replace it when it is visibly dirty or damaged, or when breathing through it becomes noticeably harder. If breathing becomes difficult during use, leave the dusty area before removing your mask and replace the filter before continuing.

Heavy dust can load a filter much faster than occasional light use. A calendar reminder is useful for checking your supply, but it does not tell you whether the filter is still usable. Keep a matching spare available and follow any earlier replacement requirement in your product instructions.

Is filter life measured in days or hours of use?

Time wearing the mask matters more than time since opening the package. For example, two hours of use on five days adds up to ten hours of wear. Dust concentration and how hard you are breathing also affect how quickly a filter loads.

Do not treat a general hour range as a guaranteed service life or wait for a target number if the filter is already dirty, damaged or harder to breathe through. The condition checks above take priority.

Can I wash a filter to make it last longer?

No. RZM3 filters are replaceable, not washable. Washing can damage the filter material and activated-carbon layer. Remove the filter before washing the reusable shell, and replace a spent filter with a new one. Cleaning the shell does not renew the filter.

Which replacement filter fits my mask?

Match both the mask family and the size on your order or product label. For RZM3, select a filter specifically listed for RZM3, then choose Small, Medium/Large or XL to match your mask. An F3 name alone does not establish compatibility: filters sold for classic masks are a separate product.

Hunting and certified configurations have their own matching filters. If the label is unclear, send Support a photo of the mask and filter before ordering.

Do I need a new mask every time I change the filter?

No. The reusable shell and replaceable filter serve different purposes. Keep the shell while it remains in good condition and replace its matching filter when needed. Before reuse, inspect the shell, straps, nosepiece and attachments. A torn shell, damaged attachment or fit that cannot be restored needs attention; a fresh filter does not repair those problems.

Can I receive replacement filters on subscription?

Subscription options are available on eligible filter product pages. Choose the correct model and size first, then select the available delivery frequency and review the recurring price and terms before checkout. A one-time purchase is also available.

Choose a schedule based on your actual use and spare supply. Scheduled delivery is not a replacement-life guarantee: you may need to replace a filter before the next shipment.

Fit, straps and glasses

How do I measure for RZM3?

Measure in a straight line from the height of the bridge of your nose to the tip of your chin. Do not follow the curve over your nose or measure below the chin. A rigid ruler and someone helping you can make this easier.

The current RZM3 guide lists Small: 3.5–4 inches; Medium/Large: 4–4.75 inches; XL: 4.75 inches and up. If you are on a boundary or unsure, ask Support with your measurement before ordering.

How do I adjust the straps and nosepiece?

Position the mask over your nose and chin, then adjust your chosen strap setup until the mask sits snugly and comfortably. Shape the nosepiece to your nose. Check again while turning your head and wearing your usual eyewear.

RZM3 offers neck, dual-head and ear-loop wearing options. Use the illustrated fitting guide for the configuration you choose. If tightening creates discomfort or still leaves gaps, stop and get help with the fit.

What should I do if my glasses fog?

Pause your task and move out of the dusty area before adjusting the mask. Reshape the nosepiece and adjust the straps with your glasses on. Make sure your frames are not lifting the mask away from your face.

The nose area and exhalation design help reduce warm breath reaching lenses, but fogging can still occur. If it persists, use the illustrated eyewear guide or ask Support for help rather than overtightening the mask.

Cleaning, storage and troubleshooting

How do I clean the reusable shell?

Remove the filter before cleaning. Hand-wash the shell with mild soap and water, rinse it and let it air-dry fully before reassembly. Keep the filter out of the wash.

Inspect the dry shell and its attachments before installing the matching filter again. Follow the care instructions for your exact model, especially when removing or reinstalling valves and other parts.

How should I store my mask and spare filters?

Keep your mask and unused filters in a clean, dry place away from dust and direct sunlight. Let a washed shell dry before putting it away. Keep unused replacement filters protected in their packaging so they are ready when needed.

A storage bag helps keep the kit together, but putting a dirty or damp mask in a bag does not clean or dry it. Inspect the mask and filter again before the next use.

Why is breathing through my mask harder than before?

A filter can become harder to breathe through as it collects dust. Leave the dusty area, inspect it and replace it if it is dirty, damaged or restricting breathing. Check that the replacement is the correct model and size and is installed as directed.

If the problem continues with a new, correctly installed filter, stop using the mask and contact Support. Do not remove the filter and continue the task with only the shell.

Product differences and intended use

How do I choose between RZM3, RZ Pro and RZ AIRflow?

RZM3 is a reusable particulate-filtration mask with a washable shell, replacement filters and three strap options. RZ Pro product information concerns specific professional respirator configurations and their applicable certifications. RZ AIRflow is room filtration for compatible PTAC equipment, not a wearable mask.

Start with the task and the exact requirement. A dust mask, certified respirator and room filter do different jobs; choose the product family before comparing replacements.

Does activated carbon protect me from paint or solvent vapors?

No. The activated-carbon layer in a particulate filter is not a substitute for approved gas or vapor protection. Reducing a nuisance odor does not establish that a hazardous exposure is controlled.

Sanding dust and applying paint, stain or solvent can involve different hazards. Check the material safety information and the respiratory protection required for that task before choosing equipment.

Review product information →

Is a filtration test result the same as a respirator approval?

No. A filter-material test describes performance under the conditions of that test. It does not, by itself, establish approval of the complete mask or how it fits your face.

For workplace requirements, verify the exact model, filter, configuration and approval for your country. The RZM3 consumer mask should not be represented as a NIOSH-approved respirator. Check the evidence center for product-specific status and documents.

What is the difference between fitting, a seal check and fit testing?

Fitting means positioning the mask and adjusting its straps and nosepiece. A user seal check is the check specified in the respirator instructions each time it is put on. Formal fit testing evaluates whether a particular tight-fitting respirator model and size fits an individual.

Adjusting until comfortable is not a substitute for required workplace fit testing. Use the consumer fitting guide for RZM3 adjustments and your workplace respiratory program for formal requirements.

Is RZ Pro 99 approved by NIOSH?

RZ is actively working toward NIOSH approval for RZ Pro 99. The model is in pre-submission testing, so approval has not yet been granted. Follow its development status for updates.

Orders, returns and getting help

Where can I see my order and tracking?

Open the order-status link in your order confirmation, or sign in to your RZ account with the email used at checkout. Shipping confirmation contains tracking when available.

If you cannot find the order, send Support the checkout email, approximate order date and order number if you have it. For a delivery problem, include the tracking number and what the carrier status shows.

How do I request a return or report a defect?

RZ’s return policy offers returns within 30 days of purchase, subject to its conditions. Contact Support with your order number to request a return and obtain authorization before sending a package back.

For a suspected manufacturing defect, contact Support with the order number, product, purchase date, photos and a description of the problem. Warranty review is separate from a standard return. Normal wear and used-up filters are not the same as a manufacturing defect.

What should I include when asking for product help?

Tell us the model and size, what you are trying to do and what is going wrong. Photos of the product label, filter and affected part help us identify the right instructions or replacement. For order questions, include the order number and checkout email.

Email support@rzmask.com or use the support form below. Do not send payment-card details. For a workplace suitability question, also include your country, task and required approval so the right team can review it.
